Olivia loves clothes. She’s four going on twenty-four and has been a fan of shoes, purses and other accessories since before she could walk. (I blame her fashion-fabulous Auntie Lyssa!) She ran around the OshKosh store exclaiming at all the ‘coote’ (cute) clothes and looking frantically for her size (“four because I’m four!”)
The OshKosh employees thought she was a hoot and were super friendly. They even gave us a free shipping coupon so we could order something online that they didn’t have in stock in her size. There was a wide selection of clothing for boys, too. Anyone who has ever had to shop for both boys and girls knows that so often stores carry super cute clothing for girls, but not as much for boys! Ethan loved the graphic t-shirts and picked out some fun ones.
My advice when shopping at OshKosh is to buy a size bigger than you need for tops. I find that they do tend to shrink in the wash. Heaven knows the kids grow fast enough that they may outgrow these these by Fall anyhow, but on the off chance that they don’t, having the bigger size means you’ll get more wear out of them. The clothes are a great quality, so they’ll stand up to all the summer fun you throw at them, just not the dryer.
Who can resist the cuteness of a toddler in overalls? I miss the days of having my little ones in adorable overalls. OshKosh has reinvented their “world’s best overalls” for a new generation! Just look at these adorable styles!
OshKosh B’Kosh has great summer clothes! OshKosh is big on quality (and cuteness) without breaking the bank so you can spend more time with your family and save money for summer fun.
DIY Sidewalk Chalk Paint
My kids have been out of school for 4 days and I’m already getting the “I’m bored” nonsense. It’s time to break out some serious summer fun with DIY Sidewalk Chalk Paint. We have TONS of sidewalk chalk, but the kids seem to be ‘bored’ of that. To make it more enticing, I whipped up some paint that the kids can use on the driveway using washable paints, water and cornstarch. It’s super easy, and super fun. (See the full tutorial by clicking on the image below.)
First, pick up an inexpensive muffin tin, or use an old one and use it as an excuse to get mama a new one! To make each paint color, we make a slurry with 2 tablespoons of cornstarch and 1 tablespoon of water. Patiently mix the slurry together with a fork – it will take a moment or two and the mixture will be very thick. Next, add the washable paint to make your color as vibrant as you wish. My kids wanted to bright colors, so we added lots of paint. You can also mix paints to create different colors. Repeat until you have your muffin tray filled up. Then grab some brushes and start painting!
The paint dries lighter and my kids were delighted to see the change in the colors from wet to dry. Sadly, just after we finished this day, it began to rain. Ethan, 7, cried “I don’t want all our hard work to be ruined!” and Olivia, in all her 4-year-old wisdom said, “Don’t worry E, we can do it again another day.” Be still my heart, she’s just like her mama!
No doubt this is a messy summer fun project, but it’s cleaned up easily enough. The paint comes right of hands with a little warm water (or a fun through the sprinkler!) and the paint comes out in the wash. These are the things memories are made of, so don’t worry about the mess, just enjoy the time with your family! (Download this free printable!)
